UK airports operator BAA is to once again appeal against the Competition Commission’s ruling that it must sell London Stansted.

The UK Competition Appeal Tribunal on 1 February dismissed BAA’s earlier appeal, forcing the operator to sell Stansted alongside Edinburgh Airport.

But BAA said yesterday that it has now initiated proceedings against the 1 February judgement.

“BAA believes that the judgement is flawed and is seeking to appeal the judgement,” said the airports operator in a statement.

BAA, which operates London Heathrow, has already sold London Gatwick and has opted to sell Edinburgh after being told to sell either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
