Southwest Airlines’ (SWA) mechanics, represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Assn. (AMFA), and AirTran Airways mechanics, represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), voted to ratify their Seniority Integration Agreement ( ATW Daily News, April 6 ). This agreement integrates the two groups’ seniority lists following SWA’s acquisition of AirTran Holdings in May 2011 ( ATW Daily News, May 3, 3011 ).

AMFA represents approximately 1,750 SWA mechanics and the IBT represents close to 500 AirTran mechanics.
