Las Vegas, Nev.-based Allegiant Travel Co. (G4) announced it will lease nine Airbus A319s from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) and will lease—and eventually purchase—10 A319s from Cebu Pacific Air. G4 said the new aircraft will support the carrier’s growth.
“The A319 is a new aircraft type for Allegiant, but we otherwise see this as a continuation of our existing business model,” G4 president Andrew Levy said.
G4 plans to have the first two aircraft in operation in the second quarter of 2013.
The carrier operates 58 MD-80s, four Boeing 757-200s and owns an additional two 757-200s.
