Air China (CA) has signed contracts with CAE for three full-flight simulators (FFS) in a deal worth C$ 42 million ($ 42 million) at list prices.

The 7000 Series FFSs will be delivered to CA’s training center in Beijing in 2013 and will provide Airbus A320, A330 and Boeing 737 training. Each FFS will be equipped with a CAE Tropos 6000 visual system.

Montreal-based CAE also announced Tuesday it has been selected as a preferred training supplier by easyJet, which has extended its long-term pilot training services agreement with the company in a contract valued at more than C$ 60 million.

The agreement is one of the first major pilot training services deals since CAE bought Oxford Aviation Academy in May ( ATW Daily News, May 18 ). EasyJet has been a customer of both companies.

“This expanded program will help us keep pace with the continued growth of easyJet’s fleet and routes by providing a steady supply of high-quality pilots,” easyJet COO Warwick Brady said.

CAE Oxford Aviation Academy is also conducting a competency-based, multi-crew pilot license first officer program in the UK with easyJet. The first cadet class will graduate in early 2013.
