Continental Micronesia flight attendants ratify labor agreement

United Airlines (UA) subsidiary Continental Micronesia (CMI) flight attendants on Friday ratified a new labor agreement, extending the previous collective bargaining agreement through December 2014.
The flight attendants are represented by the Assn. of Flight Attendants (AFA). UA reached a tentative agreement with AFA last month ( ATW Daily News, July 18 ).
Inflight SVP Sam Risoli said, “We will now turn our attention on working with the AFA on a single contract that is competitive for United and provides additional benefits for our flight attendants.”
UA flight attendants ratified a new four-year contract in February ( ATW Daily News, Jan. 11 ); flight attendants from Continental Airlines ratified an extension of their collective bargaining agreement last month ( ATW Daily News, July 16 ). AFA and United Continental Holdings will launch negotiations for a joint collective bargaining agreement covering all AFA-represented flight attendants Aug. 27.
