Air France (AF) has signed a codeshare agreement with Air Burkina (2J), the flag carrier of Burkina Faso, covering operations on the Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)-Ouagadougou (OUA) route.

AF is allocating 2J a number of seats on its daily flights between CDG and OUA.

AF said this codeshare agreement “represents the first step in the new commercial cooperation between the two airlines.” The agreement should shortly be extended to other routes in West and Central Africa and in Europe.

2J CEO Sergio Rosa said the new partnership between will allow the carrier to “better contribute to traffic developments, via Burkina, between France and West and Central Africa, and subsequently to other destinations in Europe.”

2J operates to 10 cities in West and Central Africa from its OUA hub using MD-87 and Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft. The airline is a member of the Celestair Group (with SN Air Mali and Air Uganda).
