A search team has recovered the flight data recorder (FDR) of the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 that crashed on a demonstration flight in Indonesia May 9 killing all 45 people on board. The cockpit voice recorder was recovered May 17 (ATW Daily News, May 17).
Russian News Agency RIA Novosti has reported the FDR was in good condition and would take about one week to decode the information.
Superjet International representatives told reporters at last week’s Regional Airline Assn. annual convention in Minneapolis that the crash has not significantly altered plans to manufacture and market the Russian-built regional aircraft (ATW Daily News, May 23).
